Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) holds a nationwide competitive examination every year in the month of March to select 17 grade Officers for twelve prestigious departments of the government. Number of vacancies ranges from 200 to 300 which are allocated to successful candidates according to a laid down provincial quota system etc. 10% vacancies are reserved for females.
Eligibility
To become eligible for the competition, a candidate must hold minimum 2nd class graduation degree. His age on 1st Jan of the year of the examination should be between 21 and 28 years. He has three chances to try his luck within the bracket of this age group. However, he does not lose a chance if he applies, receives Roll Number but does not take the exam.
Selection Procedure
The candidate is required to appear in 12 papers (six Compulsory + six Optional) of 100 marks each. He must score aggregate of 50% marks ie 600 out of 1200 to qualify the written examination. He is then called upon for Viva Voce Interview of 300 marks where minimum qualifying marks are 100. These are added to the marks obtained by him in the written examination. A merit list is drawn up of all the competitors. Each candidate finds his place on the merit list as per his total of his written plus viva marks. Top candidates are accomodated as per the number of vacancies available in one or teh other department, as per FPSC's rules and procedures. Toppers have a chance to get the department of their choice.
d. Each year more or less 9000 candidates compete out of which about 800 qualify the written examination. Viva Voce Interview further reduces the number to about 400. Out of these 200 to 300 who appear on top of the merit list become CSS Officers as per the number of vacancies available. The leftovers try again next year.
In view of the above, therefore, a competitor should aim at becoming a CSS Officer in the very first attempt. But is that possible? Well so far it was not. But now with the professional help of Officers Open Academy it has become possible. During the past 14 years i.e. ever since 1996 competitors who got help of this Academy and sincerely worked hard, as guided, did work this miracle with success. In general too they achieved a very high success rate. Those who could not be allocated departments despite attaining a reasonable position on merit list, were due to the quota restrictions and other such constraints.
